My Viking is home!!!

Yes, my Viking is home and I'm so excited. He's been gone for 6 weeks being repaired. But boy does he sound good now. No clunking, no whirring, no grinding.....just a sweet little hum. I've missed him so!My oldest daughter, Denise, has a friend who is having a baby boy......15 years after her last! A bit of a surprise. I've made her a cuddly warm little boy baby blanket to wrap around him. I used the mitered corner technique and it was so quick and easy. I think she'll like it.

I've also been working on a quiet book for Ellie. Nicky started it but finally gave it to me to see if I would be any faster at it than her......not much we are finding out! Now that my sewing machine is back I've worked on a few pages. The caterpillar snaps into place and the flower buttons. The shapes have magnets to hold them onto the page.
Then.......I have had this Halloween fabric sitting on my cutting mat ready to be sliced and sewn into blocks. So today I got 64 blocks sewn together. Now to the squaring up portion. Not my favorite part but oh so necessary!
It is so good to be back in my sewing room working on projects I've only been thinking about for the last few weeks. I'm also binding a quilt for Janine. It is for Easter and has the cutest Buggy Barn bunnies in Spring colors. My fabric is ready to cut and sew for my version but I don't think I'll get it made before Easter this year.

Happy Quilting! Lynda

I'm so glad you got your machine back after such a wait. I have a spare but I have not used it in years and don't think I would enjoy it at all (if it even still works). Very cute book!

Happy Viking Day to you, Lynda!! I have 3 machines so I will always have one in working order at home and one at the cabin - at least that is what I tell my better half. The truth is that I more than once have ended up with 2 or 3 machines that need service...
Looks like you have the rest of March figured out sewing wise already!

Love the baby blanket and the book you are making. And of course I'm not surprised that you are working on another Halloween quilt. Hugs
