Hillbilly Mystery quiltalong

I have been working on the quiltalong with Hillbilly. The blocks have all been very easy and have turned out fun to do. HOWEVER, the first handstitching I did on 3 little tulips turned out fairly well.....not great but ok. When I got to the 2nd stitchery the stitches looked a little bedraggled and by the 3rd one I gave up completely!!! So, not wanting to quit the small quilt and admit defeat I simply bought some fabric pens and made the stitchery blocks that way. I know it's hard to see in the picture, but they do look SO MUCH BETTER than my stitching and I am quite satisfied. Now I am ready to put it together. Bring it on Hillbilly!

Like they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. I really like your colors and look forward to seeing how it goes together.

Exactly, I completely agree with Carol. Many roads lead to Rome and necessity is the mother of invention. I'll let you know, if another proverb comes to my mind.

That would probably be my kind of stitchery as well; up until now I have only been doing it by machine. The colours looks so summery and fresh together; just lovely!

Your blocks look beautiful. And the penned blocks are very pretty too. This is YOUR creation even if it a SAL. You just made it an original :)

That's great, much better than giving up. I love the finished pieced squares, and the "drawn" blocks will make it a finish you'll be happy with. (Hand stitching doesn't work for me, either, Lynda!)

You've been busy, as usual - everything looks scrumptious! I've been busy with the grandkids...

Oh, what a great idea to hand draw them!! I think it all looks great!

So...do you want me to save todays for tomorrow since I already posted today or do you want me to post it already even though I posted today?

What ever works I say!!! It makes it an individual quilt then! So good for you. :)
